What is timebanking?
Timebanking is a way for people to share their skills, time and support with others in their community — where everyone’s time is valued equally.
Instead of paying money, you exchange time. For example, if you spend an hour helping someone with gardening, you earn one time credit. You can then spend that credit to receive an hour of help from someone else — perhaps for computer support, a lift to an appointment, or learning a new skill.
On this platform, timebanking makes it easy to record these exchanges, find people who need help or can offer it, and build connections through acts of mutual support. It encourages peer support volunteering, reduces isolation, and helps communities use their existing skills and goodwill to support one another.
In short: you give an hour, you get an hour, and everyone has something valuable to contribute.
