How to message members
Visit the members stream to view all members.
From the members stream, you can use the envelope icon at the bottom of a profile tile to contact a member.
From a profile page, you can message a member by clicking the ‘Message’ button.
Note: Some platforms have secure settings that prevent you from messaging members you’re not connected with. In these cases, you’ll need to send a connection request first before messaging them.
If you receive a message that’s offensive or doesn’t comply with the platform’s terms and conditions, you can report it to the platform administrators.
How to send a new message from your inbox
- Use the main menu and click/tap on ‘Inbox’.
- Select ‘New message’.
- If you're connected with members, you'll see them in a scrolling box — just tick the box next to their name to send a message.
- If you're not connected, you can search for a member by name using the search bar at the top.
Note: On some platforms, you’ll only be able to message members you’re connected with. If you can’t find someone, try connecting with them first.
How to report a message:
- Go to your inbox, select the conversation, and locate the message you want to report.
- Use the drop-down arrow to the right of the message and select ‘Report message’.
- The message will be hidden from your conversation while an administrator reviews it.
- The admin will decide the next steps — the message will only be reinstated if it doesn’t break the platform’s terms and conditions.
How to block a member:
Use the drop-down arrow to the right of the message and select ‘Block user’.
